JIM STEG

PRESIDENT & OWNER

Jim Steg, founder and president of Steg Custom Homes, brings over 18 years of experience in the home-building industry.


Raised in the Midwest with early exposure to construction through his father’s work, he moved to Arizona in 1979, completing his education and later excelling in the corporate world, where he honed his skills in cost planning, organization, and reverse engineering.


In 1997, driven by a passion for creating dream homes, Jim built his first house and soon left the corporate sector to pursue homebuilding full-time. His innovative Pre-Construction Concierge Program ensures a seamless and committed process for clients, reflecting his dedication to excellence and personalized service.

RICHARD WHITLOCK

EXECUTIVE OPERATIONS MANAGER

Richard, Executive Operations Manager for Steg Custom Homes, has been involved in the trades since he was 14 years old. Fast forward 34 years, and his excitement about creating and delivering the highest quality possible has only grown deeper. In 2001 he studied for 13 months at a prestigious Academy located in Paris France, learning higher aspects of the trades, and because of his passion, skill, expertise, and drive to perform at the highest level, many doors were opened for him.


He has worked with some of the best Architects, Builders, Designers and Craftsman throughout the country. Working on notable projects such as the Breakers Hotel, The Flagler Museum, and many Luxury High End Estates located in Palm Beach Florida, San Diego CA, Las Vegas NV, San Franciso CA, and here in Sedona, AZ.


Richard considers his greatest accomplishment to date, to be the alliance and friendship he formed with Jim Steg. Richard, once becoming an integral part of Steg Custom Homes, immediately noticed the simplicity of the Companies processes'. He had never witnessed another Luxury Custom Home Builder have such an unwavering ability to practice integrity through all of its daily operations, and provide consistent transparency to its clients and team members . Richard is continuously dedicated to deliver on Steg Custom Homes promise and to help each and every one of our Clients become the hero of their own story and live the life they want, in the homes we build them.

I'm Kayla Steg, the Creative Media Director for Steg Custom Homes. I specialize in photography, videography, and digital storytelling that highlight the craftsmanship and unique vision behind every custom build.


With experience in both creative production and social media strategy, I focus on capturing elevated visuals that reflect the beauty of Sedona's landscape and the refined details of our homes. 



My role is to bring the brand to life through imagery, video, and content that not only showcases our work but also creates meaningful connections with our clients and community.
