Loyalty — The Missing Link

Just the other day, I had my right-hand man with me on a job site. My buddy. My shadow. My dog, Lenny.

Now, Lenny’s got a little of his gramps in him—he can’t resist something shiny. But this time, it wasn’t a tool or scrap of metal… it was a coyote.

He knows the rule: never leave my sight. Coyotes don’t fight fair, and he gets that. But instinct took over, and he bolted.

I shouted his name. He stopped—because he felt my energy, my urgency to protect him. But instead of charging back, he gave me this sad look… and tried to limp toward me. He couldn’t. He injured his leg.

I ran to him, scooped him up, and carried my boy back to the Jeep. I felt bad watching him limp, but I was grateful I was there—grateful I could stop him before he got into more trouble.

There’s nothing I wouldn’t do to protect him. My Loyalty with Lenny runs extremely deep. I would fight a pack of coyotes off him with no question. He knows and feels that from me. Without Loyalty.... where are we?? Who can we lean on? Who can we count on??

So why am I talking about this on a Custom Luxury Home blog?

Because loyalty—real, honest, no-questions-asked loyalty—is the missing link in our industry and in today’s society.

We’ve gotten so fast-paced, so focused on things—money, schedules, material—that we forget the most important element of any success story: PEOPLE.

Stop for a minute. Look around. Think about how you got here, where you’re headed, and what you’ve built. Nine times out of ten, it comes back to PEOPLE—those who stuck by you, believed in you, and showed up when it mattered.

Many people will never understand my relationship with Lenny. I’d protect him with my life. And I know, without a doubt, he’d protect me, too. No judgment. No agenda. Just unconditional loyalty. Thats what we are missing in the construction world.... LOYALTY.

I always say I wish our clients had a crystal ball so they could see into the future. If they could see the way we protect them, watch out for them, and stand beside them—before, during, and long after the build—they’d never hesitate to ink the deal.

It’s not just talk. It’s dedication. It’s care. It’s looking out for your best interest from every angle.

LOYALTY. It truly is the missing link.
